Summary Report:

Tikal is the ruin of an ancient city found in a rainforest in Guatemala. It is one of the largest archeological sites and urban centers of the pre-Columbian Maya civilization. Tikal was the capital of a conquest state that became one of the most powerful kingdoms of the ancient Maya. It was one of the largest of the Classic period Maya cities and was one of the largest cities in the Americas. The architecture of the ancient city is built from limestone and includes the remains of temples that tower over 70 meters (230 ft) high, large royal palaces, in addition to a number of smaller pyramids, palaces, residences, administrative buildings, platforms and inscribed stone monuments.

Tikal is located in an impossible place because there are no natural water sources in the surrounding area. The nearest natural water source, Lake Peten-Itza, is 40 kilometers away. But people need water, especially when they build such huge structures. So the ancient Mayans dug out kilometers of canals and created massive water reservoirs in Tikal. But why was Tikal built on this site and not on the shores of Lake Peten-Itza, where water was much more readily available? What was so special or important about this site for the ancient Mayans to build the temple city at this location? In his book “Was ist falsch im Maya Land” Erich von Däniken gives a possible explanation: “… The starting point for the gigantic effort had always been something supernatural. Here – and only here! – the extraordinary had taken place. Was that also true of Tikal? There, archaeologists found a small jade plate on which 15 Mayan glyphs could be deciphered. The translation of these glyphs means the following: “Here the rulers of the sky family settled”. What sky family? Had the ancestors of the Maya experienced something extraordinary at this geographical point – and only there! – had the ancestors of the Maya experienced something extraordinary? Something so impressive that the ground became sacred and thus a place of pilgrimage? Did the descendants of the original Maya hope for a return of this “ruler of the sky family” and who was this ruler of the sky family anyway?”

There might be a clue to a so called “sky ruler” directly on site in Tikal. One of the stelae of Tikal is called “preclassic stele” and today it stands in the small museum near the ruins of Tikal. One of the stelae of Tikal is called “preclassic stele”. Among researchers, the date of origin is disputed. Today it stands in the small museum near the ruins of Tikal. The stele shows a strange being of which many archaeologists typicaly say it depicts the likeness of a former ruler, a spiritual shaman or a mysterious god. But it may very well be a depiction of a misunderstand technology. Also in his Book “Was ist falsch im Maya Land” Erich von Däniken describes the Stele like this: “… There are wide bands around the wrists, and even a blind person can recognize the thumb gloves. The alleged “spinal cord” turns out to be a curved tube that opens into a small box. A “spinal cord” would have to run vertically toward the coccyx. The feet are actually boots, and a curious tube winds out of each boot in turn. (see picture in the galery). The Maya themselves were barefoot or wore sandals. What are the boots with the tubes for? Are arm ornaments, thumb gloves, spinal cord, boxes, boots and tubes nothing more than misunderstood technology? Did the artist, in sacred respect, carve something in stone that he himself did not understand?…” and “… From the “cargo cult school” I spell another variant: The ancestors of the Maya saw a “god” = extraterrestrial a long time ago. He wore a closed helmet with a viewing window. This because of the earthly air composition and the bacteria. From a tank on the back some chemical mixture flowed, which enriched or disinfected our air. The used air was expelled again. The whole body was in a tight, air-impermeable overall, closed by the high boots.”

Why did the ancient mayans chose this place, far away from water sources, to build their massive building project, the city of Tikal? Was it because, according to ancient inscriptions, the “sky family” descended at exactly this location? Does this ancient stele in truth depict an “ancient astronaut” or an extraterrestrial being in it s protective suit?
