These megalithic ruins of the fortress of Tiryns are older than the nearby Mycenae. The coast line was close to the walls in ancient times. 3000 BC Tiryns was a economical center of the Pelepones. According to the legend it was built by giants, which Proitos the founder, ordered from Lycia.
