This is what the official site knows about this stone. It is one representative of many erratic boulders in the Solothurn region of Switzerland. Many of these boulders were aligned according to astronomical aspects. In the case of this “floating stone” – because that is the impression it gives to every visitor – what is more surprising is the technology used to lift and move the
18.3 ton block. This weight results from the 3D model created as part of the RamaR 3D project. A total volume of 6.55 cubic metres, at a specific weight of 2.8 tons per cubic metre of granite, gives a total weight of 18,340 kg. And that is a rather slender representative there..
