Summary Report:

In November 1938, Professor Doctor Burroughs, a geologist at Berea College in Berea, Kentucky, published an article in the college magazine. In it he claimed that together with some colleagues he had found traces of beings on a fossilized sandy beach in Rockcastle County, Kentucky, USA, which must have been human-like. Burroughs: “The footprints are impressed into the horizontal surface of a hard, massive gray sandstone. There are three pairs of tracks showing impressions from the left and right feet…each footprint has five toes and a pronounced arch.”

The site of the find, along with the footprints, was authenticated by several experts. Geologist Prof. C. Gilmore confirmed that the prints were in a rock layer that definitely belonged to the Carboniferous era. This was flatly impossible. The Carboniferous era was some 320 million years in the past, and at that time there could have been no human-like creatures that also walked on two legs. An ethnologist noted that the footprints were probably carved into the ground by an indigenous tribe. So the prints were examined microscopically. The images showed grains of sand between the toes and on the heels that were more closely packed together than the grains next to the feet. This proved the pressure of the body on the heels and the toes. Moreover, the images under the microscope showed no traces of any artificial processing. Nevertheless, all the expert anthropologists declared that the prints must be fakes because bipeds did not exist in the Carboniferous era. The Science News Letter magazine wrote in its June 1939 issue: “We admit that we do not know exactly how the tracks were made, but we do know that one creature could not have made them, and that is man in the Carboniferous era.” And in the 1940 January issue of Scientific American, a Dr. Albert Ingalls scoffed: “Asking a scientist about man in the Carboniferous is like asking the historian about diesel engines in ancient Sumer. Science knows that these prints are not from a man in the Carboniferous era unless 2 and 2 are 7 or the Sumerians would have had airplanes and radios.”

In his Book “Alles Evolution oder was”, Erich von Däniken writes the following about “impossible” datings: “… The “impossible” dating of for example 320 million years (footprints in Rockcastle, Kentucky, USA) or of 30 million years (skeletons near Savona, Italy) remind me strikingly of the equally “impossible” dates of the ages in Buddhism. And already before Buddhism the religion of the Jainas proclaimed similar, “impossible” ages. In their holy writings it is reported of people who lived 8 400 000 years ago and of others who reappeared on the average every 100 000 years. And just as a cross-reference, away from religious writing, i would like to recall the Sumerian King List. It lies today in the British Museum in London, and according to it, the ten primeval kings ruled before the flood altogether 456 000 years. Among the Maya in Central America there was a god called Bolon Yokte. According to a written tablet in Temple XIV at Palenque, Mexico, this god first appeared on July 29, 931 449 BC. On the third tablet in the Temple of Inscriptions at Palenque, in connection with the boy-king Pakal, a date is carved in the stone that is 1,274,654 years in the past. We do not even take note of these and innumerable other dates (also for example in Egypt), because they cannot be true anyway. Have we all become victims of the evolutionary world view?…”.

How is it possible to find human-like footprints in a geological layer that is supposed to be more than 320 Million years old? Is there another explanation, except the darwinistic evolution theory, that may explain such “impossible” datings? Has mankind probably existed for much longer than science would have us believe?
