The Woodhenge of Pömmelte is from the late Neolithic or early Bronce-Age and is made of 1200 Locust-Tree-Logs. The site of the Ringheiligtum Pömmelte is on a tourist path called the Himmelsweg, which translated means path to heaven, a route in the Area that has sites where people probably observed the heavens and Stars in prehistoric times. The Woodhenge measures 115 meters (377.3 feet) in diameter and Skeletons of children and young women, who were possibly killed as human sacrifices, were excavated at the site.
