Summary Report:

The Mzoura Cromlech is an archaeological site in northern Morocco that consists of a stone circle. It is located near Lixus, between Lasache and Tetouan. The stone circle consists of 167 monoliths surrounding a tumulus with a height of 6 meters. The tumulus is 58 m long and 54 m wide. The average height of the monoliths is 1.5 m, with one of the monoliths called El Uted (the peg) measuring more than 5 m. The Mzoura Cromlech is considered by some to be the tomb of the giant Antaeus.

In his Book “Die Steinzeit war ganz anders” Erich von Däniken mentions a very specific detail that can be found at the site: “… Several of these megaliths have artificially gouged out shells. This type of stones with countless small holes aligned in very specific formations are called shell stones. They are scattered all over the world, Europe is the leader in shell stones. Several times an astronomical and geographical reference could be proved in these “little bowls”. It is undisputed that these “bowl stones” belong to the oldest information carriers of the earth, even if every explanation is missing why they are to be found in countries so far apart from each other…”.

It is also important to mention that stone circles are a worldwide phenomena. They exist not only in Europe and India, but also in Africa, in faraway Australia and Japan, on Pacific islands, and in North and South America.

How did the prehistoric cultures transport and erect such massive megaliths and what was the original reason and purpose of these stone circles?
